A Baroque Workshop for Young Musicians
Get your time travel passport in order for interactive learning about life and music at the court of the Sun King! Join us and explore the culturally rich time of Louis XIV through the eyes of one of his favorite musicians, child prodigy Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre.
Violin, viola, cello and piano students come together for a weekend of hands-on learning about baroque music and dance. Students are introduced to period instruments, popular baroque dances and present a final performance.
March 2012 workshop presented by The Music Academy at the Pennsylvania State University with faculty from SIREN Baroque (Antonia Nelson, violin; Kristina Giles, viola; Anneke Schaul-Yoder, cello; Kelly Savage, harpsichord) and Carol Pharo (baroque dance).
